Le Pépin and La Plume, our local vegetable producer

Committed to an eco-responsible approach, our restaurant Le Jardin d’hiver in Brest works with local and/or organic products. Our menu changes every month, and our chef revisits the vegetables from Pépin et Plume, based in La Roche-Maurice, each season.

Our market gardener Le Pépin et La Plume has been growing organic fruits and vegetables for over ten years.

Mickaël and Matthieu have diversified and their farm now produces fresh, organic seasonal products, grown using traditional methods.

An environmentally friendly culture that corresponds to the values ​​of Le Jardin d’hiver.

Seasonal vegetables on the Jardin d’hiver menu


Delicious and creative dishes


Autumn is well and truly here, and winter vegetables have just started to appear. Enough to concoct delicious dishes, to be enjoyed in our restaurant.

The stars of this month of October: cabbage in all its forms. Chinese, pointed, headed, green or purple kohlrabi…

You will find them on your plate, in dishes imagined by our chef whose cuisine is creative and delicious.

If you are more of a squash person, let yourself be tempted by our starter with squash cream, coconut milk and crispy onions, which reveal all the flavour and finesse of the local cucurbit.

It also goes wonderfully well with ketchup, served with beef meatballs – homemade of course!

Also try the revisited beets from Pépin and La Plume, in a carpaccio made with rocket and walnut vinaigrette. Your taste buds will thank you!

The star vegetable of the season: leek, cooked in cream, it goes wonderfully with sea bream fillet garnished with black farz and roasted vegetables.

Unless you prefer it on toast, accompanied by pear, Roquefort and raw vegetables? Or in risotto, it enhances salmon!
